The Indian Garden Company was founded in 2006 by Bernadette O'Farrell, after a year spent travelling through India's craft communities. From its base in Canterbury, Kent, it has become known for hand-crafted garden parasols, lanterns, textiles and glamorous Jaipur garden tents, supplied to homeowners, garden centres, boutique hotels, spas and lifestyle brands across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
Bernadette has worked closely with Indian workshops for almost two decades and is a long-standing GargTent client. Building on that relationship, The Indian Garden Company has now been appointed the authorised distributor of GargTent luxurious tented villas in the United Kingdom.
Hotels, glamping sites, country estates and event venues in the UK can work with Bernadette directly. She helps you choose the right models and layouts, prepares your quotation and coordinates delivery and installation with our design and engineering team in India.
Our story
From the tents of royal India to tented villas for the world's finest resorts.
GargTent began in 1990 as a family workshop in Ambala, North India. For years we made traditional Indian Raj tents for event companies in more than twenty countries, from the UK, Germany and the USA to Australia, the UAE, the Maldives and Kenya.
That experience with canvas, structure and finish now goes into one thing only: luxurious tented villas for five-star resorts, safari lodges and luxury camps. We design, make and install them for clients in India and abroad, including projects in Greece and Thailand.
GargTent is a unit of Garg International, and it is still run by the family that started it.
